The problem

Spreadsheets work — until you're under the bar.

Templates scatter across Drive. Formulas break. Phone logging means squinting at rows while the rest timer runs. Notebook Gymbros keeps the workbook mental model and makes it usable in the gym.

Features

Everything your Excel training file already does — on your phone.

01

Log sessions

Fill in reps and weight as you go — fast, no fuss. Target and last result stay visible; max weight, total volume, and est. 1RM calculate themselves.

02

Your program, built by you

Set it up the way a coach would — sets, reps, and Schemes A/B/C for every exercise. Max, volume, and est. 1RM fill from your log.

03

Plan your week

Lay out Monday to Sunday — program, scheme, and notes for each day. Your training plan at a glance, week by week.

04

Build your exercise library

Start from our library or add your own in seconds — by muscle group, with sets, reps, and RIR per scheme, plus supersets by grouping rows.

05

See your progress

Visual view of programs and schemes A–C, auto-populated from your log — track max weight, total volume, and est. 1RM over time.

06

Your data, your control

Export CSV or XLSX, back up to the cloud, print PDF, share program templates by Template ID, and manage programs and settings securely.

Health & import

Bring your history. Keep your notebook.

Connect Apple Health or Google Health, import set-level logs from the big strength apps, sync activity from Strava and friends, and get reminded to log — without losing the spreadsheet model.

Health platforms

iOS: Apple Health. Android: Google Health Connect. Scan strength sessions, write Notebook sessions back, and keep body-mass context in the OS hub.

  • Apple Health
  • Google Health

Strength CSV import

Import workout history with set/rep detail from Hevy, JEFIT, Fitbod, and MyFitnessPal — preview before it hits your log.

  • Hevy
  • JEFIT
  • Fitbod
  • MyFitnessPal

Activity & recovery apps

Connect Strava, Polar, or WHOOP for session/recovery activity (not set-level lifts). Garmin and MyFitnessPal APIs are partner-gated — CSV when available.

  • Strava
  • Polar
  • WHOOP
  • Garmin

Export, Hevy Pro & reminders

  • Export & cloud backup

CSV training log, full XLSX workbook, PDF print, and cloud backup — the sheet you started from, portable.

  • Hevy Pro live sync

Paste your Hevy Pro API key for live workout sync with set-level data. CSV works for everyone else.

  • Log reminders

Schedule on-device training reminders with the Notebook Gymbros icon. Local notifications — not cloud push.

How it works

Three steps. Same mental model as your workbook.

  1. 01

    Build the program

Lay out blocks and Schemes A/B/C the way you already do in a sheet. Computed Max / Vol / RM stay visible.

  2. 02

    Log the session

Enter sets under the bar with dual current/last values, RIR and RPE. Hide unused sets; the grid autofills from your block.

  3. 03

    Watch progress

Open graphs for weight, volume, and estimated 1RM. Export CSV/XLSX, print, or share program templates when you need to.

FAQ

Questions before you join

Is Notebook Gymbros free at launch?+

Launch access is free for waitlist members. Ads may appear in-session; details will ship with the first public builds.

Which languages are supported?+

English and Norwegian (Norsk) throughout the app, including the exercise library.

Android and iOS?+

Yes. Both platforms are in scope for launch. Join the waitlist and we'll notify you when store links go live.

Does my data sync?+

Sign in with email, Google, or Apple. Training data syncs via cloud so your workbook follows you across devices.

Is this another consumer fitness app?+

No. The UI is Fluent spreadsheet chrome — cream title bar, grey headers, Excel green selection — with Log · Program · Week, dual current/last cells, and Max/Vol/1RM. Built for lifters who already train that way.

Can I import from JEFIT, Hevy, Fitbod, or Strava?+

Yes. CSV import covers Hevy, JEFIT, Fitbod, and MyFitnessPal. Hevy Pro can sync live via API. Strava, Polar, and WHOOP cover session/recovery activity. Apple Health and Google Health Connect act as OS hubs.

Do you send push notifications?+

Log reminders are on-device local notifications with the Notebook Gymbros icon — not cloud push. You pick days and time in settings.
